More than 36,000 individuals have fled Sudan's Kordofan region eastern part of Darfur since Saturday, as stated by the UN's immigration body.

The strategic central area between the country's Darfur regions and the capital region has in recent weeks become the newest conflict zone in the two-year civil war between the Sudanese army and the militia group.

Substantial Displacement Numbers

An estimated 36,825 people fled five areas in North Kordofan province between 26 October and 31 October, according to the International Organization for Migration.

The individuals, primarily walking, traveled to Tawila, a town western side of El Fasher that is currently housing in excess of 652,000 refugees.

Escalated Forces Deployment

Local inhabitants of North Kordofan on Monday described a substantial rise in both RSF and army deployment across communities throughout the state.

Both military groups are vying for control of El Obeid, the North Kordofan regional capital and a important strategic and command hub that connects Darfur to Khartoum.

"Today, all our forces have assembled at the Bara front here," said an RSF member in a recently shared video declaration.

Area Residents Detail Safety Fears

A local inhabitant of Um Smeima, located west of El Obeid, stated that the amount of RSF vehicles had grown substantially since the group's takeover of El Fasher.

"We discontinued traveling to our farms, afraid of clashes," the individual commented.

Another civilian, who sought confidentiality for security reasons, also indicated that "there has been a substantial growth in army vehicles and weapons west and south of El Obeid" over the past two weeks.

World Warnings and Appeals

A senior UN official raised the alarm last week about "large-scale atrocities" and "race-driven revenge attacks" by RSF in Bara.

The diplomat alerted to patterns similar to those in Darfur, where RSF militants have been charged with mass killings, sexual violence and abductions against certain racial groups.

The spiritual head on Sunday called for an quick cessation of hostilities and the creation of humanitarian corridors in Sudan, declaring that attacks on civilians and impediments to humanitarian aid "are causing unacceptable suffering."

Sudan's ambassador to Egypt on Sunday alleged RSF of carrying out war crimes in El Fasher and stated that the Sudanese government would not discuss with the paramilitary group.

The representative further called on the world nations to categorize the group as a terrorist entity.
