A Marquee Acquisition for the WSL Side Schüller, who has six months remaining on her deal, is known as a prolific goal-getter for both club and country. She has scored more than 100 goals for Bayern and found the net 54 times in 82 caps for Germany. This signing will be seen as a marquee coup for the Women’s Super League side. Her exit from Bayern was expected after she appeared to be holding back emotions while applauding the club's supporters following a win over Bayer Leverkusen recently. Reports in late December that the German women's top flight was losing one of its leading strikers. Per multiple sources, all the paperwork for the transfer are now finalised. Reliable Goal Threat to Strengthen the Forward Line The 28-year-old’s signing is expected to provide a significant uplift to United’s attacking options. Schüller has been highly consistent with her finishing in the Bundesliga. For seven straight seasons, including the most recent campaign, she achieved at least a double-digit tally of league goals. She claimed the top scorer award in the 2021-22 season with 16 goals. Building Momentum at Carrington Securing the German international comes at a time when the club appear to be building positive momentum. Recent performances include qualifying for the Champions League knockout phase playoffs as a seeded team and a victory in the League Cup quarter-finals. Off the pitch, the mid-season window has seen additional activity: The acquisition of Sweden right-back Hanna Lundkvist on a multi-year deal. The contract extension for Japanese midfielder Hinata Miyazawa, a fan favourite since joining in 2023. Regarding Miyazawa’s new deal, a senior figure stated: “She has become a vital component to the way we play.
