This comeback of Mega Evolutions in Pokémon Legends: Z-A has sparked widespread enthusiasm within the fandom. Starting with the one-by-one unveiling of fresh additions ahead of the game's launch, to trainers developing firm opinions on the full lineup of new Megas, there's plenty for enthusiasts to anticipate.

Given many of the Super Forms boasting unique appearances that highlight their traits, one thought came to mind: What's the best way to link this with zodiac signs? The following is inspired by a blend of intuition, common zodiac traits, and individual observations.

The Ram – Super Camerupt

Honestly, Houndoom was almost selected for this fire sign, as both are the Mega Pokémon and zodiac symbol that evoke the greatest apprehension. But, a Super Houndoom comes across as always furious, which doesn't match the Ram's energy, renowned for being playful, cheerful, and impulsive. That's why Aries much more akin to Super Camerupt, which solely erupts when angered. Remain on the friendly side of both and enjoy a strong ally; should you offend them, be ready to get burned.

The Bull – Super Heracross

Much like a devoted Taurus, the steadfast Heracross species, both in its standard and Mega form, has aided numerous players in Legends: Z-A. While trustworthy, both the creature and a Bull are also Fighting types, and – be it their companion or a strong opinion – will stand up for their side to the end. What about Super Heracross that reminds me most of my Bull-sign companions, though, is its unashamed love of treats. Several past official descriptions mention their fondness for sweet sap and how it employs its appendage to hoard it all, which is pure Bull-sign vibe.

The Twins – Mega Medicham

Look at this total queen. You cannot convince me this Pokémon is not the life of any gathering, providing an endless fountain of gossip to those who wants to listen. Much like an captivating, sociable Gemini, it's very easy to imagine Mega Medicham captivating an entire Wild Zone with their tales. This Pokémon's Pokédex entry also states its capacity to predict an opponent's next moves, which sounds very similar to a socially-savvy Gemini.

Cancer – Super Manectric

The Crab is commonly regarded as the most sensitive member of the zodiac, a passionate sign famous for often becoming wrapped up in their feelings. Per the Pokédex, Super Evolution fills the Pokémon with a “tremendous amount of energy, but it's excessive for Manectric to fully manage,” which seems a lot like a classic Cancer emotional outburst. It is also recognized for its capability to create a storm cloud over its own self – and if there’s a single trait a Cancer is likely to do, it’s rain on their good time.

Leo – Mega Starmie

Oh, did you assume I was planning to select the lion Pokémon for the lion of the zodiac? Besides the reality that it would be much too on the nose, Leo is clearly Super Starmie, the star whose gams just became an internet sensation for being extremely glamorous (or horrifying, based on your preference). Fans couldn’t look away from the purple starfish, and that’s precisely the identical energy a Lion offers to the table. This Pokémon is also rumored to be transmitting signals from its red core out into space, and it’s typical of a Leo to be staging a show, albeit for aliens.

The Maiden – Mega Victreebel

The ever-prepared and perpetually-anxious Maiden is ideally encapsulated in Super Victreebel, the Super Form with perpetual digestive issues. The zodiac symbol known for being endearingly judgmental is strongly mirrored throughout this Pokémon’s entire evolutionary chain, from a perpetually surprised face like a Virgo when you inform them you lack a 401(k), to its upside-down face that’s similar to the emoji a Maiden sends to the chatroom when all says they want to “go with the flow” rather than creating a strategy.

The Scales – Super Audino

Look at this gentle, sensitive being, who uses the feelers on its auditory organs to detect how people are feeling by their pulse. Consistently compassionate – sometimes to a fault – and trying to maintain the peace, there are numerous Scales who would likely benefit from Super Audino's skills. Though, let’s be honest, it would probably just cause them to worry even more about everyone else.

Scorpio – Mega Banette

This Ghost-type is a creature with a surprisingly sad backstory: Discarded as a doll, it became consciousness through pure resentment and vowed revenge on its previous caretaker. Per the official info, Super Evolution, “increases its vindictiveness.” That seems exactly like many discussions I’ve had with my scary Scorpion acquaintances. A Scorpio adores karma and comeuppance, making them the perfect match with Mega Banette.

Sagittarius – Mega Hawlucha

Both Mega Hawlucha and Archers are constantly putting on a show. As a Sagittarius myself, the amount of times I’ve referred to myself some variation of a “silly small entertainer” is countless. The showiest and most obnoxious Mega Evolution, its Pokédex entry even notes how it “poses to show off its power.” I would do the exact same thing if I had some kind of Super Form, making Mega Hawlucha the most fitting Archer match I can imagine.

Capricorn – Super Absol

Did you know that a Super Absol has the power to predict disasters ahead of time? That exudes the identical energy as a Goat, who tends to always think they’re correct. The thing is, much like a prophetic Mega Absol, they frequently are. It’s also the absolute initial Super Form that players encounter in Legends: Z-A – just like a Capricorn to get in on the ground floor of the Mega trend.

Aquarius – Mega Chandelure
